South Texas Journey
May, 2004

My Mad Plant Scientist friend, Congo Conroe Joe, and I took a Native Plant Hunting Journey to South Texas in this May. Joe was searching for Native Cacti and the unique that grew in the ground (but not enough rocks). Naturally, I was questing the Wild El Grande! What an adventure, 36 hours and over 800 miles in a rental SUV!  Too much ground to cover in too little time, but we wandered back home with some boot and some photos to share.

Ask me if I would do this again, and I will say...
Heck Yeah, in a Texas Heartbeat!
