What La Reina Observed:
I called this one "Bubba" because it is such wild, unruly plant. If it was stake up, it probably be 6'+ tall and is multi-branching.  This one was very late to set pods. One of the most prolific of the 2003 USDA Project.  Once pods were set in Aug 03, it was approximately 60 days to ripe pods.  The ripening process of these pods cannot be compared, similar to the Ají Verde, displaying green, orange and red on the pod a the same time. Waffled pods range in size from 3 - 5". Pods reset in December and are now ripening (Feb 2004). These later pods are somewhat smaller in size. It does seem VERY tolerant of cool weather.

Flavor & Heat:
Pods are medium flesh with the typical fruity baccatum aroma and flavor.  A slow heat reaching about 8 on the 1-10 scale. Very nice.

La Reina's Rating:
9 - Prolific, Flavor, Heat & Pod Beauty
I would grow this one again.
