Per USDA: Capsicum baccatum var. pendulum Where Collected: Not Stated http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/acchtml.pl?1138584
What La Reina Observed: I called this one "Ear Bob" because it's pendant growth on a long stem reminded me of the 70's earrings my Dad called Ear Bobs. The pod shape was a very nice surprise from the mostly elongated pods in the project. Rounded pod ripened from green to bronze ot red and took their sweet time, approx. 60 days. The plant grew to approx. 4' and had an erect, yet branching habit. Very limited production. It has wintered fairly well, but has not attempted to bud. A very long season variety.
Flavor & Heat: Pods are medium-thick flesh. Sweet and baccatum fruity and aroma. Minimal heat varied among the harvested pods.
La Reina's Rating: 10 - Flavor & Aroma, Growth Habit I would like to discounted for lack of productivity, but I was very fond of the Pod Shape. I would grow this one again.
